I’d love a classic step input from keyboard too.
Thank you for your beautiful app I use it with great pleasure!

Hi! A step recorder is already implemented, you can see it in action here: https://youtu.be/k1cSLZL3xuQ?t=169 . In order to use it you need to map the "Enter", "Left" and "Right" (and optionally "Escape") commands you find at the bottom of the mapping screen.
I presumed one would use it only in combination with a MIDI controller, but do you think it would be useful also without?
Or were you thinking about something completely different?

Matteo Caldari: Good evening. The step recording I suggest advances the sequencer automatically to the next step without the need for any additional controller input (enter, left, right). The advantage is that you can quickly enter sequences this way. Many hardware sequencers work this way. And I sometimes use step recording to transfer sequences from one (hardware) sequencer to another. It would definitely be good as a feature that works without an external MIDI controller. For this to work you could add a left and right button to the built in keyboard. These buttons could be used to jump steps (add rests), or tie notes by holding down the “right” button while pressing keys.

Matteo Caldari: I’d like to be able to use the internal keyboard for step input. It’s more convenient to use my iPad standalone without external equipment in most cases. Using the keyboard is often a better reference than tapping notes into the grid. I agree with M Dammer’s input.
